Sometime around mid-2015, Katelyn began catching glimpses of Lauren through a mutual friend’s social media posts. She did not know who Lauren was at the time or anything about her, but she did know she was absolutely smitten. 16o Twitter characters later and Katelyn had a phone number and every intention of asking Lauren on a first date. The first date was at Sake Cafe. The love story didn’t quite take off there, though, because Lauren shortly took off, back out of state, as she was attending school and playing ball at Mississippi College. Despite the 180 miles between them, the two would always find their way back to talking and catching up, and eventually, the distance became a non-factor. In late 2016, Katelyn began making the first of quite a few 2.5-hour drives to Clinton, MS and liked Lauren more each time she left. And so it began…
In December of 2016, Katelyn made it official by asking Lauren to be her girlfriend. Their relationship was and is filled with love, laughter, and lots of travel. In July of 2019, Katelyn proposed to Lauren in the courtyard at The Board of Trade in New Orleans, despite hurricane season’s best efforts to delay it. Not long after their engagement, Lauren and Katelyn’s French Bulldog, Ollie found his way into their lives. Lauren asked Katelyn to marry her, too, while the couple rode the gondola on a snowy day in Vail, Colorado.
Spoiler alert… they both said “yes”..
