New Orleans weddings are always full of character, but Sophia and Austin’s celebration at Southern Oaks was pure magic. With nods to their love story, touches of Disney, and classic Southern elegance, it was a day we won’t forget.
Sophia and Austin’s story began where many fairy tales are born — at Walt Disney World. Both participating in the Disney College Program, they met through a mutual friend who also officiated their wedding and instantly connected. As Sophia put it, it was a little “faith, trust, and pixie dust” that brought them together, but their relationship has been built on love, respect, adventure, and a deep appreciation for life’s happiest moments.
After a picture-perfect proposal during a springtime trip to Norway in 2024, the couple spent nearly a year dreaming up their perfect New Orleans wedding. And what a celebration it was.
The ceremony and reception took place at the stunning Southern Oaks estate, one of New Orleans’ most iconic wedding venues. Sophia made a showstopping entrance in a classic horse and carriage, straight out of a storybook. The reception was filled with subtle Disney touches, from Mickey Mouse-shaped beignets to hidden nods to The Princess and the Frog, creating a celebration that felt both personal and timeless.
To top it off, guests were given colorful maracas for the couple’s grand exit, a lively New Orleans tradition that perfectly blended with the day’s whimsical, joy-filled atmosphere.
