Margaret & Eli’s lovely New Orleans wedding at Rayne Memorial Methodist!
.
In her words..
Eli and I were set up sort of on a blind date meet up. His dad (Chris) worked with my good friend’s uncle (Phil) in Houston. At work, they were discussing how Chris’s son was going to LSU, and he didn’t know a lot of people going to LSU. Phil told Chris about how all of his niece’s friends were going to LSU, but she was going to Rice in Houston, so she didn’t have any Houston friends. Phil then began scheming, and one weekend at his niece’s house he told me about a Houston boy coming to LSU that he could set us up with to meet. Phil then managed to get an email from Chris that had all of Eli’s information—even down to a headshot and his ACT score (LOL). So I facebook messaged Eli, and we started chatting, and then my three friends and I went to Houston and met up with he and his two buddies at Torchy’s Tacos. And the rest was history!

At LSU, we began talking from day 1, and by October, we were officially dating. We dated all throughout college. Some of our favorite memories during college were LSU Football Games, Fraternity and Sorority Events, and a 9-week-long trip to South America the summer before Senior Year. Then after graduation, I started my first year of medical school at LSU, and Eli taught Physics for a year at Catholic High in Baton Rouge. That year we really grew our love for New Orleans as Eli drove in almost every weekend to visit that year. We also loved attending church every Sunday at Rayne, which is part of why we wanted to get married in New Orleans!

The next year, Eli moved to New Orleans and started medical school at LSU. This past year, I have been living at home in Lafayette where I’ve done my third year of medical school while Eli finished his second year in New Orleans. We have now known each other for 7 years and been dating for 6.5 years. We have talked about this day for years, and we are so excited to finally celebrate it with all of the people whom we love most in the world!
