Chris and I knew early on that we were going to get married so we actually started planning well before we were engaged. In November 2019, we started booking vendors then Covid hit, which threw a wrench in our actual engagement. Chris proposed to me on my birthday (June 3, 2020). We had dinner reservations, and we were about to walk out the door. He had an unwrapped Amazon box sitting on the counter and asked, “Well aren’t you going to open your present?” Chris does not like to wrap presents so this was typical Chris! I opened the box and saw a textbook face down in it. Needless to say, I was shocked to see he got me a book! Attached to the book was a sheet of paper that said, “Another one bites the dust! The story of when Ashlynn says yes to Chris with a ring in his hand. Turn around!!” When I turned around, he was on his knee with the ring! Of course, I started boohooing and said YES!.
