“We started dating in high school (high school sweethearts :)) when I was 15yo and he was 18yo. I was a cheerleader for his high school (Brother Martin) and he tried out for the cheerleading team his senior year (that’s how we met!). I was a sophomore at the time, so we were only on the team together for one year before he left for college at LSU. We remained long-distance for the following two years as I finished high school at Mount Carmel. I then went to LSU for a year and a half before coming back down to Nursing School in New Orleans. Fast forward a few years; John Michael graduated in petroleum engineering and started a big boy job at One Shell Square, and I graduated nursing school and started working at Ochsner Baptist in the NICU.
He proposed on our 8 year anniversary in city park and it was PERFECT!.”
