A Love Story Unfolded: Kelsy and DJ’s Wedding at the National Shrine
Sometimes, love takes us on a journey we could never predict. Kelsy and DJ’s love story is one that defied the odds, culminating in a stunning wedding at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in New Orleans. Here’s their remarkable journey in a nutshell.
Kelsy and DJ’s story began at Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2019. DJ, a football coach, and Kelsy, a member of the support staff, crossed paths in August. However, it wasn’t until December that sparks truly flew. It was the year when LSU clinched the National Championship, and their connection grew as they celebrated this victory together.
Their love story was tested when DJ accepted a coaching position with the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte. Without hesitation, Kelsy left her job to be with him. Just as they made the move, the COVID-19 lockdown struck, challenging their relationship. Yet, they emerged stronger and more determined than ever.
In 2021, DJ returned to LSU, but it was a challenging year for football, and the entire coaching staff faced uncertainty. DJ and Kelsy moved in with Kelsy’s parents in New Orleans for five months as DJ searched for a new opportunity.
In July 2022, DJ found a new position with UCF Football in Orlando, marking another significant move. It was here that DJ surprised Kelsy with a heartfelt proposal. He took her on a tour of the UCF Football facility, showing her a “hype video” he had created, encapsulating their cherished memories. In the video, DJ expressed his desire to spend his life with Kelsy. On bended knee, he proposed, sealing their love story with a resounding “yes” from Kelsy.
Their love story has taken them on a journey from Louisiana to North Carolina, and eventually to Orlando. Most recently, DJ’s career brought them to Buffalo, New York, where he accepted a job with a local college in January 2023.
Their wedding at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor was a celebration of the unbreakable bond Kelsy and DJ share. Surrounded by loved ones, they exchanged heartfelt vows and promises of a future filled with love and joy.
